TORMAX Delivers Modern Access To Castle Hotel

Opened in the summer of 2024, Warwick Castle Hotel lies in the heart of the 64-acre grounds, with over 60 medieval-themed rooms. Door automation expert TORMAX worked with main contractor RED Construction Group to deliver an entrance solution that welcomes guests into the impressive reception, with a combination of two sets of bi-parting automatic sliding doors. The doors work in tandem to create an effective entrance lobby that minimises heat loss from the building.

Powered by two TORMAX iMotion 2202.A door drives, the busy entrance system is engineered for longevity and low maintenance. All in-house designed iMotion drives feature AC motor technology that has none of the parts that generally wear out, such as gears and brushes. Combined with a state-of-the-art microprocessor control system, iMotion delivers market-leading reliability for door automation.

RED Construction Group’s Special Projects team delivered the two-storey, lodge-style hotel which has been sensitively designed to complement the surrounding Knight’s Village and reflect the rich history of Warwick Castle. The building has a BREEAM Very Good rating target, and as part of the project, Merlin Entertainments planted 1,000 additional trees in the local area.

We are delighted to have installed our energy-efficient iMotion automatic entrance system at the new Warwick Castle Hotel,” comments Simon Roberts, MD for TORMAX UK. “Designed for durability and a long-life span, iMotion technology supports the hotel’s sustainability goal while providing a seamless and welcoming experience for every guest."

Energy saving, the iMotion range of door drives deliver rapid response to approaching pedestrians, minimising heat loss from the building during inclement weather. Furthermore, power consumption is automatically optimised during door leaf movement and switches to low energy mode when on stand-by.

With a low carbon footprint, iMotion drives contain no hazardous materials, such as lead or mercury and 96% of the components are recyclable. “TORMAX has a deserved reputation for combining innovation with reliability to enhance visitor experiences in iconic locations like Warwick Castle,” confirms Roberts.
